For MIXD Salon in Chestnut Hill, which ‘handles all types of locks with elevated precision,’ Brooke concepted an interior design plan that elevated the look of the business’s new space.
MIXD was in need of a complete makeover, so Brooke managed the project throughout construction– providing renderings and selection suggestions– through to completion with finishes and furniture placement.
Brooke fashioned a look that played-off the existing exposed brick walls and ductwork by incorporating simple, industrial elements, like tension railing cabling along the staircase, pipe-supported open shelving, and thin-framed round mirrors (oversized, of course!). Among the most interesting of design elements in MIXD though is the ceiling– which boasts both a white coffered and flat black section.
Brooke then complemented those selections with a juxtaposition of refined touches– like art deco wallpaper, gold signage, and wide-plank flooring. Her plan was also inclusive of furniture selections (can you say pale pink velvet chairs?) and decor that coordinated with the salon’s chic, cool black, white, and gray palette.
